This week is turning into one of updates and mass production now that a certain Gigabyte video card has finally been added to its maker's website, though it still is not up for grabs anywhere.
More than just one previously-announced product has made its way to online stores this past week, such as Gigabyte's S1080 tablet and the MSI X370 notebook.
MSI's Wind Top AE2210 all-in-one, although it was released a while ago, also fits in this list, since its availability extended to Europe.
Now, a certain high-end video card from Gigabyte has become the subject of attention, even though it hasn't really begun to sell, nor is its price known.
The board in question is the GV-N580SO-15I, known better as GeForce GTX 580 Super overclock, has finally received its own product page, located here.
The GTX 580 is already a top-tier adapter, but Gigabyte took things up to eleven by pushing the GF110 GPU (graphics processing unit) to 855 MHz instead of 772 MHz.
Something similar happened to the shaders and 1,536 MB of GDDR5 VRAM, which operate at 1,710 MHz and 4,100 MHz, respectively, instead of 1,544 MHz and 4,008 MHz.
Of course, such tweaks would not have been safe in absence of serious modifications to the PCB and capacitors, among other things.
As such, the outfit used the Ultra Durable VGA+ design, which involves a 2oz copper PCB, Low RDS MOSFET, Ferrite Core and Metal Chokes and a Proadlizer capacitor.
Finally, a dual-slot WindForce 3X cooler with a vapor chamber, three PWM fans and three copper heatpipes handles the task of heat management.
Other specifications include a 384-bit memory interface, 3-way SLI support, CUDA, PhysX and 3D Vision Surround (mini HDMI and dual-DVI ports exist).
All in all, this should be an add-in-board more than worthy for even the most avid of enthusiasts, save, perhaps, those that want a dual-GPU card, in which case the GTX 590 (or AMD's Radeon HD 6990) will serve better.
